Community Outreach

Many people with mental illnesses are doubly challenged. They struggle with the disabilities and symptoms of the disease, and they are challenged by the prejudices that result form misconceptions about mental illness.  These unrealistic misconceptions prevent many who suffer from mental illness from seeking the care they so desperately need.

Our Community Outreach Program works to overcome these unfair and unnecessary perceptions by educating the public about mental health issues and promoting the value of good mental health. We participate in local events and create opportunities to:

  • Address the stigmas associated with mental illness
  • Increase the understanding of relevant issues
  • Strengthen relationships with diverse populations
  • Promote well-being within the community
