Ari Garza (she/her/ella) is a bilingual (Spanish/English) Social Work Intern at Hamm Clinic.

Being a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants has given her the experiences and ability to share cultural lenses that allow her to break language barriers and better empathize with diverse communities. Ari was born and raised on the East Side of Saint Paul, Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Ethnic Studies from Metro State University and Is completing her master’s in social work with a concentration in Multicultural Clinical Practice at Augsburg University.

Ari strives to use her practice knowledge and skills to deliver equitable transformative mental health care tailored to individuals’ social, cultural, and language needs by fostering compassion, inclusiveness, cultural humility, and transparency. She is passionate about working with people from all genders and sexual identities and individuals from diverse backgrounds and all walks of life. She is committed to providing care from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming lens. Ari’s clinical interests include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, intergenerational trauma, PTSD, and LGBTQIA+ mental health.
