Jade Johnson (she/her) is the Training Director and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Hamm Clinic. She received her bachelor’s degree from Macalester College and her Masters of Education in Psychological Counseling from Teachers College at Columbia University. Jade provides individual therapy to clients at Hamm as well as guiding the Training Program to ensure a valuable, thorough learning experience for all Hamm trainees. Jade works to create an engaging, warm, and non-judgmental therapeutic space where clients can show up as their full selves and work toward improving their lives and decreasing sources of distress. Jade has experience in working with a wide variety of diagnoses and concerns, but is particularly experienced in helping people through anxiety, mood disorders, relational conflict, and communication problems. She believes that all people are experts on their own lives and stories, and enjoys facilitating positive change with the client in the driver’s seat. Jade’s therapeutic approach is relational and person-centered, with particular space given to explore the intersections of our identities and lived experiences.
